The report Building up Chemistry contains an analysis of the huge problems in the Dutch post-15 Chemistry curriculum, problems for learners, teachers, management and assessment.

Conclusion: the Chemistry curriculum urgently needs a complete redesign. The advice of the Chemistry Committee is a new curriculum, based on the context and concept approach. This new curiculum will be developed in smaal nummebers of teachers and expert terams, starting from experimental, social, theoretical and professional contexts.

In this workshop we compare de British and Dutch problems and plans for building up a challenging chemistry curriculum.
