The Exploratory Committee on Chemical Education, established by the Dutch Ministry of Education and Science, maps out the problems encountered in chemistry education in the Netherlands today.

From ten interviews with parties included the committee concluded that there is broad consensus regarding the requirement to renew the current chemistry programmes in senior secondary general education (havo) and pre-university education (vwo). Incentives for renewal of chemistry education are also represented.
